Privacy Policy
Overview
Wajed is a private relationship journal. Its core design is local-first, which means the notes, people, events, and reminders you create are intended to stay on your device by default. This Privacy Policy explains what data Wajed handles, what third-party services are used, and what information may be transmitted outside your device.
Information you add inside Wajed
Depending on how you use the app, Wajed may store the following information on your device:
- people profiles, names, birthdays, tags, and relationship notes
- journal notes, event notes, and mentions
- photos, videos, and pronunciation recordings you attach
- reminders and app preferences such as security settings
- contact details you choose to import from your device contacts
Permissions Wajed may request
- Contacts: to let you import people from your address book.
- Microphone: to record pronunciation audio.
- Photos or media access: to attach images or videos to your notes and events.
- Notifications: to deliver reminders you choose to enable.
Third-party services
Wajed currently uses the following external services for limited operational purposes:
- RevenueCat: handles subscription status, purchases, restores, and customer center flows.
- PostHog: receives product analytics events such as paywall views, subscription actions, and app usage signals used to improve the product.
- Sentry: receives crash and error reports to diagnose problems and improve stability.
These services may receive technical metadata needed to perform their role, such as device information, event timing, app version, subscription state, error details, and identifiers generated by their SDKs.
What stays local
Wajed is designed so your journal content is primarily stored on your device. Unless required for a feature you use, Wajed does not intentionally upload your private notes, relationships, or attachments to a Wajed cloud backend, because Wajed does not currently rely on a general-purpose sync backend.
Analytics and diagnostics
Wajed may collect analytics and diagnostic information to understand app usage, subscription conversion, feature adoption, and product reliability. This may include screen names, premium gate events, paywall events, restore flows, customer center opens, crashes, stack traces, app version, device type, and similar technical data.
Data retention
Content you create in Wajed remains on your device until you delete it or remove the app. Operational data handled by third-party services may be retained by those providers according to their own retention policies.
Your choices
- You can choose whether to grant contacts, microphone, media, and notification permissions.
- You can delete content inside the app.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions through the App Store or Google Play.
- You can contact Wajed for privacy-related questions.
Children's privacy
Wajed is not intended for children under 13, and it is not knowingly designed to collect personal information from children.
