Memories and follow-ups
How to write a memory, add a follow-up so you remember to ask, and what happens when you answer it.
A memory is anything worth remembering about someone: what they told you, a moment together, a photo. A follow-up turns it into a question to ask later.
How do I write a memory?
- Tap the write button, on Today, on a person’s profile, or on the Write widget.
- Write what happened. Type @ and a name to add a person.
- Add photos, a video, a voice note or a link if you like.
- Tap the checkmark at the top to save.
When saving, Wajed asks whether you talked with each person. Your answer updates “last talked” on their profile.
Can a memory be about more than one person?
Yes. Add everyone it’s about. The memory appears in full on each person’s profile.
How do I add a follow-up?
- In the composer, tap Follow up.
- Check What to ask. Wajed fills it in for you, and you can change it.
- Choose When: In a few days, In a week, In 2 weeks, In a month, Pick a date, or Next time we talk.
A follow-up belongs to one person. On the day, that person shows up on Today in coral, and you get a notification if notifications are on. Next time we talk sets no date: the question waits in their brief for the next time you reach out.
Why did Wajed suggest a follow-up?
When a memory mentions something like an illness, an exam, an interview or a move, Wajed suggests a follow-up. It’s only a suggestion and is never added unless you keep it.
How do I mark a follow-up as done?
Answer it: open the follow-up from Today or the person’s brief, and write what you learned. Saving the answer ticks the follow-up off, and their profile shows the question and the answer together. To close it without writing anything, choose Tick it off instead.
Can I dictate instead of typing?
Yes, and it’s free. Tap Dictate, or hold it while you talk. Your words are turned into text on your iPhone. Dictation needs Speech Recognition and the microphone turned on for Wajed in iPhone Settings.
What’s the difference between dictation and a voice note?
Dictation types your words into the memory. A voice note keeps the recording itself, with its words written out underneath, so it can be found in Search. Recording voice notes is part of Wajed Pro. A memory keeps one voice note.
How do I find an old memory?
Use the Search tab. It searches people, memories (including the words in voice notes, links and follow-ups) and events, and you can filter by person, group and time.
