How to add Wajed's Today and Write widgets to your Home Screen and Lock Screen, and what they show.

Updated October 18, 2026 · 1 min read

Wajed has two widgets. Today shows who to reach out to, in the same order as the Today tab. Write opens the composer in one tap.

How do I add a widget to my Home Screen?

  1. Touch and hold an empty spot on your Home Screen until the apps jiggle.
  2. Tap Edit, then Add Widget.
  3. Search for Wajed.
  4. Choose Today or Write, swipe to pick a size, and tap Add Widget.

Today comes in small, medium and large. Write comes in small and medium; the medium one adds Voice and Photo.

How do I add one to my Lock Screen?

  1. Touch and hold your Lock Screen and tap Customize, then Lock Screen.
  2. Tap the widget area and choose Wajed.

Today has three Lock Screen sizes; Write has a circle.

What does the Today widget show?

The first person with a reason today, in that reason’s colour, and the next few after them. Tapping a row opens that person. For two hours after an event, it asks Anything to remember? with Write and Voice. While an event is happening, it says Now.

Why does the widget show only counts and times?

You have App lock or Hide details turned on. Widgets then show only how many people are waiting and when, never names or what to say. See Privacy and App lock.

Why does my widget only say “Open Wajed to finish setting up”?

Widgets only show your journal once setup is finished. Open Wajed and finish setting up, or skip the remaining steps.

Do the widgets work with tinted and clear icons?

Yes, they’re made to read well in tinted and clear Home Screens too.
